CEPE668  –  Defusing the Charge: Strategies for Frontline Workers Confronted by Challenging Clients

Oftentimes emotionally charged clients seeking immediate resolution of a concern confront you, as a worker on frontlines. You become the receptacle for frustration, anxiety, hostility, and in some cases even aggression. This training will teach you skills and strategies to defuse confrontational scenarios, and restore a sense of calm to the interaction. You will:
    • Learn about emotional discharge and the difficulty associated with the regulation of affect
    • Become familiarized with strategies designed to defuse aggression and restore a sense of calm to emotionally charged situations
    • Gain a greater confidence level in working with clients expressing frustration in a variety of forms
