Nursing Refresher Class
If you are an LPN, a transfer student accepted into the TC3 Nursing Program, or a returning student this class is for you. THE CLASS IS REQUIRED FOR ANY STUDENT WHO WILL BE NEW OR RETURNING TO THE TC3 NURSING PROGRAM. This class will help prepare you for the math exam and skills competency demonstration given the first week of class, as well as orientation to the Blackboard online teaching platform.

Wilderness EMS Upgrade
WEMS is designed to help you apply your scope of practice in prehospital and remote settings. Along with pre-course work customized to your level on an e-learning platform, this course involves lecture, discussion, patient assessment drills, case study review, and BLS and ALS skills labs. Build skills through progressive scenario simulations requiring treatment, formulation of evacuation plans, and coordination of emergency resources and personnel.
You will:
• Learn crew resource management skills
• Review the ICS frequently used in SAR.
• Focus on managing patients in prolonged care setting with emphasis on major bleeds, ischemia, infection, rhabdomyolysis, and functional needs.
• Cover non-technical components of lifting, moving and extricating patients from small spaces and difficult terrain, including for extended travel.
Current EMS or other professional medical certification is required. Participants include Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, EMTs/Paramedics, SAR medical leaders, expedition medics, DMAT members, military medics, and those preparing for the WP-C test. Interdisciplinary providers are intentionally mixed during performance tasks to promote future collaboration in the field. Upon completion of this course, EMT’s, AEMT’s and Paramedics can receive up to 45 Continuing Education Hours approved by CAPCE. Course content and certification through Wilderness Medical Associates International taught by AVH Global.

Certified Nursing Assistant
Are you interested in the healthcare field? Do you like to help others? Become a Certified Nursing Assistant! Our Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares you for the NYS Certification Exam and puts you on the path to success in your new career. The program is comprised of a total of 125 hours of training (70 hours classroom, 20 hours of lab, and 35 hours of clinical) which exceeds the minimum training requirements stipulated by NYS. NYS Certification: New York State Certification is required. You will sit for the NYS exam upon successful completion of the course.
Clinical Experience: As part of this program, you will participate in a 35-hour clinical experience at a local healthcare facility.

Prerequisites: Enrollment Requirements:
• At least 16 years of age
• A high school graduate, working on a G.E.D., or reading at a 9th-grade level
• In good health. Flu and Covid-19 vaccines required. MMR, Varicella, PPD, Tdap & Influenza immunization records must be provided by the first day of class
• Dependable, patient, and have a desire to help people
• Able to communicate well and have positive relationships with patients
• Attend an information session, February 24 or March 23
• Return CNA application by April 22
