Introduction to Biotechniques
Gain high-level skills and hands-on experience with current laboratory techniques and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for research or diagnostic labs. This course is applicable to the biological, natural, forensic and health sciences and is appropriate for those in agricultural science fields who want to augment their skill set and/or train for job advancement. We will cover lab safety, documentation, aseptic tissue culture techniques, recombinant DNA, and protein purification.
This class is also offered for academic credit. If you wish to earn academic credit towards a degree, certificate, or microcredential, please contact Julie Partigianoni at JLP037@tc3.edu. The expectations for attendance, participation, and effort are the same for all students.

Excel can help you organize, calculate, analyze, revise, update, and present your data in ways that will help the decision makers in your organization steer you in the right direction. You will

Fundamentals of Electricity 1
This course is designed to educate the student in direct current electric circuit fundamentals. This course is the foundation and prerequisite for multiple electrical and electronic courses. The course begins with the coverage of SI units, scientific notation, and electrical quantities. It proceeds with Ohm's law, electrical power, series, parallel, and series-parallel circuits, which are the backbone of electric circuit theory. The course concludes with an introduction to Magnetism and Electromagnetism. The lab component will include testing, measurement, and troubleshooting of DC electrical circuits. Medical Billing and Coding
Gain the skills needed to solve insurance billing problems, learn how to manually file claims (using the CPT and ICD-10 manual), complete common insurance forms, trace delinquent claims, appeal denied claims and use generic forms to streamline billing procedures. Materials covered include: CPT (Introduction, Guidelines, Evaluation and Management), specialty fields (such as surgery, radiology and laboratory), ICD-10 (Introduction and Guidelines) and basic claims processes for medical insurance and third party reimbursements. You will learn how to find the service and codes using manuals, (CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS).
National Certification: After obtaining the practical work experience (6 months to 2 years), students who complete this course could be qualified to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Billing & Coding Specialist exam (CBCS); American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) - Certified Professional Coder Exam (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder Exam (COC); the American Health Information Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam.
NWCA National Certification: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Medical Billing & Coding Specialist (MBCS) Exam.

Phlebotomy Technician
A Phlebotomy Technician collects blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. In this career training program, you will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood collection procedures, hands-on specimen practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.
National Certification: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Healthcareer Association Phlebotomy Technician Exam and the National Workforce Career Association Phlebotomy Technician Exam. Exam fee not included in tuition.
Clinical Externship: As part of this program, you will be eligible to participate in a 40-hour clinical externship.

Certified Nursing Assistant
Are you interested in the healthcare field? Do you like to help others? Become a Certified Nursing Assistant! Our Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares you for the NYS Certification Exam and puts you on the path to success in your new career. The program is comprised of a total of 125 hours of training (70 hours classroom, 20 hours of lab, and 35 hours of clinical) which exceeds the minimum training requirements stipulated by NYS.
You will learn:
• Infection control procedures
• Communication and interpersonal skills

Build a well-rounded foundation in both technical and professional skills essential for careers in manufacturing, electrical engineering, and related fields. You will gain familiarity with key electrical engineering concepts including circuit components, basic microcontroller programming, and troubleshooting. Through a self-directed project supported by the instructor, you will begin developing and practicing leadership abilities such as time management, decision-making, and continuous improvement. We will emphasize communication through technical writing and presentations, while also reinforcing essential workplace behaviors like professionalism, teamwork, and reliability. You will practice safety protocols in a hands-on soldering workshop and explore career opportunities using tools like BLS.gov.
