Re-center your mindset around mental health care! Mental health care isn’t just a clinical practice, it belongs in every area of our lives. In this two-part workshop, you will engage in interactive discussions, reflective exercises, and practical activities on a range of topics centered on promoting mental well-being, empathy, and positive communication. By the end of this workshop, you will have gained valuable knowledge and practical skills to foster mental wellness, create a culture of care, and support the well-being of yourself and others in various settings. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certification as a Mental Health First Aider. This certification signifies your competence in identifying the potential need for mental health support, understanding available resources, and promoting mental well-being in your community. You will:
    • Explore how you can create a culture of care in personal and professional settings
    • Identify strategies for promoting inclusivity, empathy, and respect in all interactions
    • Develop skills to establish supportive environments that prioritize mental well-being and foster a sense of belonging
    • Acquire Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Skills such as providing initial support and assistance to individuals in mental health crises or distressing situations

CEPE105  –  Introduction to Notary Public

This workshop helps you prepare for the NYS test, and provides a comprehensive understanding of the role of the notary public. Confusing laws, concepts, and procedures are clarified in plain English. Examples are provided to illustrate situations the officer is likely to encounter, such as avoiding conflict of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging proper fees, handling special situations, minimizing legal liability, and much more. Attendance at this seminar is a must for a notary public candidate to become fully aware of the authority, duties, and responsibilities involved. A common misconception is that merely passing the required exam adequately prepares an officer candidate to competently execute all duties. You also have access to a web page to post your notary related questions after the course.

All materials will be provided, including website links to NYS Department of State licensing information, booklets, and forms. Also featured is an 80-question Practice Exam which attempts to emulate the actual New York State mandatory exam. You will learn:
    • How to avoid conflicts of interest and maintain professional ethics
    • Proper fee structures
    • How to approach special situations
    • When to defer to an attorney, and how you can minimize legal liability
